A journey of excellence aimed at enhancing the territorial identity and iconic winemaking style of Eastern Valpolicella and Western Soave
With great excitement, the Castagnedi Family announces the start of the 2024 harvest in their vineyards, nestled among the enchanting hills of Eastern Valpolicella and Western Soave. This pivotal moment marks the culmination of a year of meticulous and dedicated work in the vineyard, aiming to capture the essence of our territory in every glass while integrating the vertical, iconic style that defines our wines.
Our commitment shines through every stage of the process, where quality results from a rigorous vertical integration of expertise. In recent years, thanks to strategic collaborations with trusted and highly skilled partners, the company has evolved while keeping its focus on the unique value of the terroir and its distinctiveness.
This year’s harvest begins with the collection of Pinot Grigio, starting with its Organic variant, a testament to our dedication to sustainable viticulture. The climatic challenges of 2024 have demanded even greater care and precision, but the company is confident that these grapes will produce wines of outstanding quality and identity, consistent with the Castagnedi Family style.
The harvest will continue over the coming weeks, encompassing all the varieties grown in the company’s production areas, concluding with the red Amarone grapes destined for appassimento by the end of October.
“We are confident that this year’s wines will not only reflect our territory but will also strengthen our role as leaders in Eastern Valpolicella and Western Soave. The challenges of climate change were once again evident, but we understand that our work after the rains in May and the summer heat must support the vines—not dominate them—interacting and intervening to meet their needs, allowing them to express their potential in the best way possible,” says Massimo Castagnedi, co-owner and agronomic manager of the company.
Interest in this year’s harvest extends beyond national borders. The 2024 harvest has attracted significant attention from both Italian and international operators. As Armando Castagnedi explains:
“We are delighted to welcome numerous guests and industry professionals eager to explore our production process, which continues to evolve with an unmistakable style. Among our innovations is the renewal of our appassimento system, which combines empirical methods with advanced technologies to ensure rigorous quality control of the grapes. From controlled ventilation and precise weight loss monitoring to both human and scientific evaluations of specific parameters, this harvest season is truly special.
We warmly invite all industry operators to visit our winery, where we’ll be glad to share the value of our territory and our commitment to preserving it.”
